We are experiencing issues with the water well system and have placed a service call to a local water well and pump service company to investigate the cause and repair the system.  Right now there is not enough water flow or pressure to flush the toilets or wash your hands.

At this time, we do not have a timeframe of when the repairs will be completed and the restroom facilities back in service and use.  So, currently, the restrooms are OUT-OF-ORDER.  Members and Guests should make other arrangements for the use of toilet facilities when visiting the range.

We will keep you posted as to any further delays or when repairs are completed.

Texas Materials has always been known for its generosity and community spirit. Once again, it's delivering free dirt to our club for use in berm construction and maintenance. This gesture speaks volumes about the support we have from local businesses and organizations.

The importance of maintaining our club's facilities, especially the ranges and berms, cannot be overstated. These structures not only ensure safety but also contribute to the overall quality of our members' shooting experiences.

Thanks to Texas Materials, we have access to high-quality dirt that will help reinforce and build new berms, ensuring that our ranges remain safe and functional for years to come. This contribution not only saves us money but also strengthens the bond between our club and the local community.

However, as we embark on these construction and maintenance projects, it's important for all club members to remain vigilant. With large dump trucks transporting dirt to our location, there will be increased traffic around the premises. This poses potential hazards, especially for those using the ranges.

It's crucial that everyone exercises caution and adheres to safety guidelines when visiting the club during this period. Be mindful of the heavy machinery and trucks moving around the area, and always follow the instructions provided by club Range Safety Officers.

While the delivery of free dirt is a boon for our club, safety remains our top priority. Let's make sure that we continue to enjoy our shooting sports in a secure and welcoming environment.

A heartfelt thank you to Texas Materials for their generous contribution, and let's work together to ensure the safety and success of our club projects.

As announced earlier this week, the 100/200-yard range was supposed to be close this week (11/6/23 to 11/10/23) to allow DD6 crews to mow and maintain their drainage ditch easement that runs through the middle of the club.  However, yesterday morning the machine broke down stopping their work.

According to DD6, they are waiting on Caterpillar to send their representive out to the club to inspect the equipment and make repairs.  So, it appears that the rifle range will be open all the remainder of this week.  They anticipate starting mowing again sometime next week.

On another note, Gulf Coast Texas is hauling dump truck loads of free dirt in to the club today that will enable us to build an impact berm at the Archery Range that all club members to us the Archery Range in the very near future.

    NEW 4-H ARCHERY RANGE OPENS

The 4-H kids are now using the new archery range.  The Club installed three steel posts and rigging to enable them to raise and lower two archery backstop nets to capture any field arrows that miss their target.  4-H Coach and Assistant Program Director, Brandi Sandford led the way.

This new range is a welcome addition to the Club and will not only further support the 4-H kids, but will soon be open to Club members to get ready for deer hunting during the earlier archery only season once we expand the range with a backstop earthen berm at 60-yds.

Penn Services and volunteer members moved all of the steel targets and gear for the big-bore IHMSA steel silhouette and cowboy action SASS matches to the new yellow Conex located south of the LTC Range. Then the old tan Morgan building that was in terrible disrepair was torn down and discarded. Penn Services brought a large load of crushed rock to "pave" over the grassy area where the tan building previously resided, and enlarged the parking area for the LTC Range.

Mark another project completed! The list is getting shorter and shorter.

Penn Services, LLC recently completed both Phase I and Phase II of the berm construction project for the new Action Range bays located next to the Activity Building.  The project included construction of a 20-yard bay, and a 25-yard bay.  However, these new ranges remain closed until grass has grown to prevent erosion, along with installation of two new shelters and parking area.
