Penn Services and volunteer members moved all of the steel targets and gear for the big-bore IHMSA steel silhouette and cowboy action SASS matches to the new yellow Conex located south of the LTC Range. Then the old tan Morgan building that was in terrible disrepair was torn down and discarded. Penn Services brought a large load of crushed rock to "pave" over the grassy area where the tan building previously resided, and enlarged the parking area for the LTC Range.

Mark another project completed! The list is getting shorter and shorter.

Penn Services, LLC recently completed both Phase I and Phase II of the berm construction project for the new Action Range bays located next to the Activity Building.  The project included construction of a 20-yard bay, and a 25-yard bay.  However, these new ranges remain closed until grass has grown to prevent erosion, along with installation of two new shelters and parking area.

The Silhouette, LTC, and 25/50 ranges will be closed tomorrow, Friday, May 26th, for construction and maintenance.  Work crews will be clearing wooded land adjacent to or behind these ranges and moving dirt for the new bays next to the Activity Building.

These ranges will be open over the Memorial Day Weekend (Sat. & Sun) but will be closed during the day Monday through Friday, May 29th through Friday, June 2nd.

During this period, members can shoot pistols, pistol caliber carbines, and rimfire on the 100/200-yard rifle range.  Please note that crews will also be mowing ALL ranges from sunup to sundown tomorrow, Friday the 26th.  Mowers have the right-of-way!

Jefferson County Drainage District No. 6 completed repairs to the bridge Tuesday, January 3, 2023.  Crews and equipment arrived around 8 AM and left 4 hours later.  Unfortunately, there was no access to the rifle ranges during this brief work period.

We appreciate DD6 responding so quickly to remove the debris and repair the bridge.  Especially as this involved the New Year holiday weekend.  We also appreciate our member's patience and understanding.

Recent rain events have resulted in damage to the bridge crossing the drainage ditch going to the rifle ranges.  All members are advised to take the necessary precautions when using the bridge crossing to prevent further damage to the bridge or to your vehicles.

Jefferson County Drainage District No. 6 crews have been on site to clear debris and assess the damage.  We expect DD6 crews to return very soon to begin repairs.

Until then, slowly and carefully cross the bridge and avoid the hole as seen in the photo below.  DO NOT CROSS IF THE BRIDGE IS COMPLETELY UNDER WATER DURING A RAIN EVENT!

We will continue to advise members when repairs are being made and any impact that may have range access and use.  Be safe!

The Board of Directors has authorized a small team of hog eradication experts to hunt wild hogs on the range at various times of the day and night.  This team works under an approved range safety plan and carry a Letter of Authorization signed by the Club President.

These team members are the only ones authorized to hunt hogs with the goal of reducing the damage being done to the range and berms by wild hogs.  No other person, member, or guest is permitted to shoot hogs.  Any non-authorized person caught shooting hogs will loose their membership and be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
