Monthly Meetings
If you enjoy the outdoors, hunting or shooting sports, you’ll love the shooting sports project! This project covers firearm safety and teaches responsible handling and use. Get ready because this project is hands on. You’ll learn about a variety of firearms including pistols, rifles, shotguns, and even archery! Some groups focus on competitive events, and others practice basic shooting programs.
In the shooting sports project, you’ll learn how to load and shoot a variety of firearms, proper maintenance of your firearms, parts, and accessories, proper safety procedures in handling and shooting, about shooting sports competitions and how to participate, shooting sports procedures, and firearms use.
Texas 4-H participation requires annual online enrollment through 4HOnline, with memberships resetting every August 15th. Youth must be at least 8 years old (and in 3rd grade) up to age 18 as of August 31 of the enrollment year, with a $25-$30 fee. Clover Kids (K-2nd) pay a $10 fee, and all members must reside in or attend school in the county they represent.

4-H is considered an extracurricular activity, meaning that for competitive events (such as the county fair or photography contests), members must meet school eligibility requirements.
Member Behavior
Members are expected to follow a code of conduct focusing on character, safety, and respect, with potential consequences for misbehavior during 4-H events, activities, or in public
